A little local sign history...
When Hancock Sign Company first opened its doors back in 1969, it was an exciting time:
Neil Armstrong's one small step for man... Woodstock... Gas for 35 cents a gallon...A series of amazing innovations in signs stirring on the horizon. Jay Hancock, president of Hancock Sign Company, launched the business initially manufacturing magnetic signs for vehicles. It would be the start of even bigger things to come for signage in general and for Hancock Sign Company in particular.
As the company grew, the signage firm branched out by hand lettering and screen printing various types of business signs, as well as fabricating and installing commercial signs and industrial real estate signs. Hancock Sign Company had already come a long way!
In the mid-1980s, Hancock Sign Company changed the direction of its operations to once again keep pace with major sign industry advances.
By moving into the quickly developing field of designing, manufacturing, installing and servicing electric signs, including cabinet signs, monument signs, channel letters, neon signs, pole signs and many others, the firm charged to the forefront of this avenue of the signage industry - and remains on the cutting edge of the newest sign developments. Retailers and institutions - especially schools and religious groups throughout the area - quickly availed themselves of the latest in signage technology to increase their visibility, bringing the latest messages to their respective communities and accomplishing this economically over the long term. This trend continues.
Today, Hancock Sign Company remains a leader in the full service commercial sign arena. We design, manufacture, install and service all types of custom signs, from channel letters, neon, sign cabinets and cast stone signs to lighted pole signs and LED-illuminated electronic message centers. And those are only the exterior signs. Logos, plaques and dimensional letters recreated in the form of interior signs make up a significant portion of Hancock Sign Company's business. In short, if you can imagine it, odds are we are going to be able to bring that idea to life.
